Join Ahavas Achim for a scholar in residence. Dr. Shnayer Leiman is Professor of Jewish History and Literature in the Department of Judaic Studies at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, and Visiting Professor at the Bernard Revel Graduate School of the Yeshiva University. On Friday night there will be a seudah by reservation only followed by a lecture entitled: "The Ban on Secular Study in Jerusalem" and an Oneg Shabbat. On Shabbat morning the lecture is entitled: "Masorah and Halacha". On Shabbat afternoon, the lecture is entitled: "Did the Maharal of Prague create a Golem?" On Saturday night there will be a lecture entitled: "The Bible & the Talmud in the Light of Modern Archaeological Discovery" followed by a Melave Malke.
